The club was well represented once again this year
in the St. Patrick's Day Parade
in Jensen Beach.
Congratulations to Ed and Wendy's "Limin' Place", nominated at the Trop Rock Music Awards for Best House Concert Venue for the last three years. Recent concerts have included Scott Kirby, Sam Rainwater, Howard Livingston, and a benefit house concert by
The Captain and The Kid
for Grace Packs (which resulted in a donation of more than $1000!).
Our annual Christmas In The Caribbean fundraiser is always a huge success, resulting in a big donation of money and toys to the Salvation Army of Martin County.
INTERNATIONAL BEACH CLEANUP Many of our Treasure Coast Parrot Heads participate in the annual cleanup at Jensen Beach, contributing dozens of volunteer hours and picking up bags and bags of trash.
(l to r from 2013: Jan, Don, Mary, Linda, Michael, Wendy, Ed, and Eileen)
To get an even better idea of what Parrot Heads are all about, please watch the video below - "Parrot Heads (Together We Fly)" is a song written, produced, and sung by our PHriend, Trop Rocker Jimi Pappas, with the video produced by George and Lisa Schott of the Parrot Heads of Central Florida.
The song is a tribute to Parrot Heads all over the world, who have taken the phrase "Party With a Purpose" to levels that most certainly have exceeded the hopes of our original founders. It's the lead off track to the album "Taking Care Of Our Own", which can be purchased and downloaded at www.BeachfrontRadio.com. All profits from the album support Phins To the West's DJ Jeff/Taking Care Of Our Own Fund, a fund that helps DJ Jeff's fellow cancer victims.
(Tragically, DJ Jeff Allen lost his fight against cancer on October 23, 2013.)
And - in case you still don't know...
WE - the TREASURE COAST PARROT HEADS - are PHun-Loving PHolks who wear tropical shirts and hats, enjoy cheeseburgers, margaritas and the music of Jimmy Buffett. We also make our paradise a better place to live by supporting Community & Environmental Charities And, we have a blast doing it!
