Hello Treasure Coast Parrot Heads The Palm Beach Parrotheads have challenged us to meet them in the bowling alley as they try to win back the coveted Tiki God. TCPHC won the last Tiki God Challenge back in 2011 and leads the series 3 - 2. We currently have the Tiki God and the Palm Beach Club wants him back. I think NOT!! Join us at 1 pm on Saturday, March 28th at Jupiter Lanes 350 Maplewood Dr., Jupiter, FL 33458 as we “bowl over” the Palm Beach Parrot Heads and keep the Tiki God on the Treasure Coast. The cost for the bowling competition is $20.00 per person (Pre-Registration) and includes 3 Games of bowling, Shoes and Ball. (It will be $25.00 at the door.) There are 2 players per team, but you do not have to belong to a team to participate. You can register as an individual and they will put you on a team the day of the event. If you are not a bowler, come on out in your PHinest Parrot Head attire and cheer for our TCPHC teams! Better yet, join the Coco-Hole competition (Corn Hole). The winner of the Tiki God Challenge will be determined by the bowling competition, but you can win Coco-Hole bragging rights and prizes! The cost for this event is $10.00 per person. Please complete a Registration Form available at March Happy Hour and mail it with your check by March 21. The Palm Beach PH Club and Jupiter Lanes need to know how many players to expect. In true Parrothead spirit, it will also be a “Party With a Purpose” to benefit Alzheimer’s Community Care which serves St. Lucie, Martin & Palm Beach Counties. There will be a 50/50 drawing as well as raffle items - so bring a few “spare” dollars. Food and Drink Specials: - A bucket of domestic beer for $17.50/single domestic for $3.75 - Import buckets for $20/single imports $4.50-$4.75 - Bar specials (TBA) will be offered - PLUS Jupiter Lanes will also offer a new drink - "The Parrot Head” - (It will be a surprise!)
- "Cheeseburger in Paradise” special - Giant Half-Pounder served with hickory smoked bacon, melted Wisconsin cheddar, Spanish onion, vine ripe fresh tomatoes, lettuce, pickle and fries - $7.50 You can also order from their full bar menu. Hope you all will join us for an afternoon of fun and friendly competition! I’m the TCPHC contact/liaison for this event so please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need more info. INTERNATIONAL BEACH CLEANUP 2013 Seventeen of our Treasure Coast Parrot Heads participated in the annual cleanup at Jensen Beach, contributing a total of 62 volunteer hours and picking up an estimated 60 pounds of trash. RELAY FOR LIFE 2013 The TCPHC continued its efforts this year in support of the American Cancer Society, raising a total of more than $4000, bringing our six-year total to $46000.
Treasure Coast Parrot Heads are PHun-Loving PHolks who wear tropical shirts and hats, enjoy cheeseburgers, margaritas and the music of Jimmy Buffett. We also make our paradise a better place to live by supporting Community & Environmental Charities And, we have a blast doing it! Congratulations to Ed and Wendy's "Limin' Place", nominated in the Trop Rock Music Awards for Best House Concert Venue in 2013 - they didn't end up winning, losing out to a larger and longer-established venue, but the nomination is indeed something to be proud of!
TCPHC Members - check out the Bylaws & Procedures page for links to the Newly-Revised Bylaws and Administrative Procedures.
If you want a better idea of what Parrot Heads are all about, take a look at the video above - Parrot Heads (Together We Fly)" is a song written, produced, and sung by Trop Rocker Jimi Pappas with the video produced by DJ George and DJ Lisa Schott. (Lisa is President of the Parrot Heads of Central Florida.)
The song is a tribute to Parrot Heads all over the world, who have taken the phrase "Party With a Purpose" to levels that most certainly have exceeded the hopes of our original founders. It's the lead off track to the album "Taking Care Of Our Own", which can be purchased and downloaded in The Music Hut at: www.BeachFrontRadio.com/TakingCareOfOurOwn.cfm. All profits from the album support Phins To the West's DJ Jeff/Taking Care Of Our Own Fund, a fund that helps DJ Jeff's fellow cancer victims.
(Tragically, DJ Jeff lost his fight against cancer on October 23, 2013.)
(The Treasure Coast Parrot Head Club Inc. is a Florida Non-Profit Corporation incorporated July 30, 2008, and a federal tax-exempt 501(c)7 social organization. TCPHC is a chapter club member of Parrot Heads in Paradise Inc., the national organization of Jimmy Buffett fan clubs. The clubs support community and environmental concerns while providing social activities for people sharing a common interest in the tropical lifestyle exhibited by Jimmy Buffett's words and music.)
